Introductory Program

KSN Katie teaching an Introductory Program to a group of BSU students.

This is the place to start, whether you are familiar with martial arts or a total beginner. I designed our Introductory Program for people new to Kuk Sool Won™ to get their feet wet and learn the basics of our art and how I teach.

Nobody likes to feel silly, and sometimes things in the martial art world seem designed for that. A room full of people yelling and jumping around in weird clothes can be intimidating.

Embarrassing Things about Martial Art Classes:

  • Instructions in a foreign language (Korean).
  • Training with people who know martial arts.
  • Other people watching.

I understand.

Of course, I love martial art training. I know it will benefit anyone. I have seen it change lives and deepen relationships. I have seen friends meet through martial arts and even get married.

This program eases students into martial art training gently and naturally. Here’s how it works. First, we schedule two semi-private lessons.

These lessons will:

  • Teach you the fundamentals of Kuk Sool.
  • Give you a head start on the material.
  • Familiarize you with the terms and phrases used.
  • Provide a solid foundation for success!

Then, after you know what to expect, you will participate in a regular martial art class. Of course, we teach physical skills, but also character-building, the need for self-control, and discipline. You’ll be in class, learning alongside other people. And you will feel proud knowing that you are benefiting your family.

To sum up:

The Introductory Course is two semi-private lessons and one regular martial art class, no uniform required. After this introduction, if you are not thrilled with the instruction you or your child received, you walk away with no obligation to continue.

If, however, like nearly everyone who takes this course, you feel that the life lessons and the fitness benefits are worth the modest investment, then we would be honored to serve you. I hope you’ll take advantage of this offer.

I look forward to hearing from you and passing on to you some benefits that my family and I have gained from participation in Kuk Sool Won™.

Since my phone number is on the internet, I get even MORE spam calls than most people. If you would like to speak by phone, first send a text to 765.387.9121, and I’ll call you back as soon as possible.

I usually tell people that we take school-age children. Usually, before that they are too young to understand and benefit from our regular classes.
