What will you gain from martial art training?

For the past few years, whenever someone applies to the school, I have asked them what they hope to gain from martial art training. The answers fall into four basic categories. Here are some of them:

Physical

  • Strength
  • Balance
  • Coordination
  • Improved Stamina

Mental

  • Focus
  • Mental Clarity
  • Peace of Mind
  • Knowledge

Character

  • Discipline
  • Self-Control
  • Respect
  • Confidence
  • Philosophy
  • Self-Discipline

Fun

  • Connect with the Community
  • Spend Time with my Kids

And, perhaps my favorite response:

  • Learn Legendary Skills

No promises on your status as a Legend

While I can’t promise that your skills will be legendary, I can promise, with time and practice, you’ll have a shot at everything else on that list.

Never heard of Kuk Sool?

It’s the study of the traditional martial arts of Korea (which includes family styles, Royal Court martial art, and Buddhist Temple martial art).

In Hyuk Suh founded the World Kuk Sool Association and organized the syllabus. I was a member of that association for over 25 years. When I asked about allegations of corruption at the top of the organization, I was kicked out.

Muncie Martial Arts still practices the art of Kuk Sool independently of any association at this time. We are proud to serve the Muncie, Yorktown, Anderson, and Winchester areas. We firmly believe that we offer the finest family-oriented martial art education and training in East Central Indiana!

Great traditional martial art combined with a knowledgeable and caring teacher. I definitely recommend them.

He’s made a terrific impact on my son’s character and has encouraged and challenged my son as well as myself in several areas where now I can […]

I am looking for a Tai Chi Instructor.

Hi Tammy. We may have spoken already, but Tai Chi is not what we do. We are a traditional martial art school. While we have all the benefits of Tai Chi, we also learn useful self-defense skills, improve cardiovascular fitness, and improve flexibility and mobility to a much greater degree.
